so there's like the official ruling and then the unofficial official ruling when it comes to heir. basically the officially ruling couldn't be made until the heir turns 16, which is the age when children are allowed to officially enter court etc etc. and the "unofficial" ruling just follows the line of succession. so should avery had died before roman turned 16, roman still would have been made king with most likely juni acting as regent. however the whole official thing does give the choice to whoever is first in line to step aside should they decide they don't want to be monarch. now up until roman's birth evander was "unofficially heir" and avery being who he is, did have conversations about this whole thing with evander when he turned 16. avery offered the title of heir to evander, which he said he would take but only if both roman and amelia both declined it. (roman would have been around 12 and amelia around 6 at that time if i remember my math) caden suspected his brother might offer evander the title and so was really pressuring him to take it if it was offered. i don't know yet if evander was truthful or lied and said avery never offered it. and even if evander himself did want it, he would still decline as it wouldn't feel right to rob his cousins what was rightfully theirs.

listen evander is caden’s golden child, he’s the eldest cousin but also about 4 years older than roman and avery did in fact name evander as his heir (obviously until roman was born but that’s a whole other post) but the fact evander had been named heir kinda stuck around, not that it ever went to evander’s head. (there’s also a whole other post in this too) and while there’s a lot still in development, caden was for sure doing some sketchy shit that evander found out about and called his dad out for. and the more i think about it, as much as it pains me the more i realize caden probably had a hand in evander’s death, which is why he snaps the way he does

All ready for a formal event (after Avernus) - Tav is borrowing some general-use formal attire from her monastery, Karlach has splurged on some new clothes (although she's styled herself up in her usual way, she's even put her hair up.) They're off to Tav's family reunion* at Evander Murena's** estate in Baulder's Gate.
These sorts of things make Tav somewhat nervous and it's been a while since she attended one***. Karlach, however, was so eager to meet everyone, how could Tav possibly turn down an invitation? Despite Tav's reservations it goes well, and Karlach is warmly welcomed in to the family to her utter delight.
*Unusual for a tiefling, she comes from a big extended family that is majority teifling - they're what happens when the weirdos and outcasts find each other and make a little clan and in a few generations there's a lot of them by birth, marriage, and adoption.
**A reclusive merchant lord - head of a huge shipping empire, friends with the current patriarch of Tav's family from their younger years, which is why this sort of thing is possible. The Felix family is much much more humble than the Murenas.
***Not all of her extended family thinks kindly of her (she is a penniless traveling monk and now feckless adventurer, after all.)

One year ago today I met Evander for the first time and brought him home as a long term foster! He's since been adopted and is living happily in California on an alpaca farm with a bunch of other yorkies and Yorkie mixes. If this little guy had all four legs I might have considered keeping him.
I'm happy he got to land safely where he can live his terrier dreams, barking at livestock and being a general menace around a farm with a bunch of dog friends.
EDIT: correction it has been TWO years since I fostered Evander and I cannot count apparently

What happened to the statue of The Bombinating Beast? - Part 1: ATWQ to ASOUE
This theory is dedicated to @ven10, whose post depicting the statue in the episode of The End (https://www.tumblr.com/unfortunatetheorist/758594891663212544/it-certainly-is-ven10-it-certainly-is?source=share), inspired my thoughts. There are also inferences made by @snicketsleuth (and @snicketstrange) which are used.
So, by the end of WITNDFAON (which I admit I haven't read yet but will get round to), we know that The Bombinating Beast statue is of great importance, as well as:
"Snicket fed Armstrong to the creature, and then wandered into the Clusterous Forest with the statue. It is unknown what he did with the statue and what happened to that beast, or its siblings, after this" ~ Snicket Wiki.
The only hint we have of The Bombinating Beast is that Lemony wanders into the Clusterous Forest with it's statue. Therefore it is important to take into consideration an extra detail about the Clusterous Forest, which links the ATWQ universe to ASOUE:
Lucky Smells Lumbermill gets its green timber from The Clusterous Forest.
This is my line of reasoning as to what happened:
1. Despite being an agent of VFD, Lemony is still a child, so there is a chance he feels some remorse for killing Armstrong Feint/Hangfire.
2. It is out of said remorse that Lemony decides to have nothing to do with the Beast again, burying the statue of the Beast deep in the forest... or so he thinks.
3. During ASOUE (just before TMM) a worker (e.g. Evander) chopping trees for Lucky Smells Lumbermill comes across the statue.
4. Not knowing what to do with it, and being under hypnotic influence, the worker promptly hands it to the foreman, who gives it to Sir.
5. It is extremely likely that Sir (The Miserable Mill) and Wiley Smogface (FU:13SI, ATWQ) are in fact the same person; however, there is no reference of any connection whatsoever between Sir/Smogface and The Bombinating Beast's statue. This implies that he knows nothing about the Beast, which makes little sense given that he is from Stain'd-by-the-Sea.
This logical gap can be filled: if Sir/Smogface had a "very terrible childhood" as Charles has clearly stated during TMM, this could refer to his parents bouncing around from town to town as they seek different jobs with more and more money. Hence, Wiley is left by himself in his parents' latest job-stop - Stain'd-by-the-Sea - unaware of the legend of The Bombinating Beast.
6. Sir has no idea of the power he holds... but apparently, neither does Georgina! There's also no reference to Georgina knowing anything about the statue - she's just a VFD optometrist with a bad reputation who lives in Paltryville, even during the events of ATWQ.
This implies that the statue... well... just stood there, as an ornament, in Sir's office.
7. Someone took the statue from Sir's office at Lucky Smells Lumbermill. But who? Well, whoever it was must have known two things:
a) The importance of the statue
b) It's location
There are only 3 people who seem to fit the bill perfectly - Lemony, Ellington and Moxie.
We know that each of them have their reasons:
Lemony: To use its power to somehow help the Baudelaires.
Ellington: To end it all after falling into a depression from the loss of her father OR to claim revenge on Lemony after having gone through the grief mentioned above.
Moxie: For a great story and the Mallahan legacy; after all, Lady Mallahan allegedly slew the Original Bombinating Beast.
@snicketsleuth's post, 'What is The Great Unknown?' (Full post here: The Snicket Sleuth — What is “The Great Unknown”? (tumblr.com)), says the following:
"Following the events of “All The Wrong Questions”, Ellington eventually escaped from the prison cell with Kit Snicket thanks to the skeleton key in Ellington’s bag. Kit and Ellington, before going their own ways, exchanged a good deal of information. Kit Snicket could not help noticing Ellington acted extremely angry towards Lemony and VFD in general.
In the following years, Ellington worked tirelessly to recover her father’s remaining assets as well as uncovering the secrets of Inhumane Society. Though the book Caviar: Salty Jewel of the Tasty Sea was destroyed, she had had the opportunity to read some chapters Lemony hadn’t. No one knew about the CBB more than her. With some effort, she managed to find the animal hiding in the Clusterous Forest, as well as the Bombinating Beast statue that Lemony had buried there. With the statue, she was now in control of the CBB. Eventually she managed to track down an octopus-shaped submarine which used to belong to Hangfire, only to lose it to Count Olaf.
As Olaf escaped with the submarine (now rebaptized the Carmelita), Ellington pursued him. She used the statue to control the CBB, ordering it to seize the Carmelita. The CBB first encountered the Queequeg in close vicinity to the Queequeg. Unsure whether these two crafts were allied with each other, Ellington ordered the CBB to stand down. Captain Widdershins mistook the question-mark shape on their radar for an enemy submarine.  Later, Ellington witnessed the Queequeg being attacked by the Carmelita, and decided to approach the CBB to scare Count Olaf and help the crew of the Queequeg. Count Olaf also assumed the mysterious entity was an enemy submarine."
I agree with Ellington being the one who takes the statue...
...but I don't think she found it in the Clusterous Forest. Sorry, @snicketsleuth.
8. If Georgina's reputation was really as bad as Moxie made it out to be, there is a chance that Ellington would have visited the Lumbermill in disbelief - I think it is here that she stumbles upon the statue.
9. This happens:
"With the statue, she was now in control of the CBB.
Count Olaf also assumed the mysterious entity was an enemy submarine.
The Queequeg eventually escaped from the clutches of the Carmelita. While making their way to the Hotel Denouement, Olaf, Esme and Carmelita Spats realized the Baudelaire orphans’ absence and were betrayed by Fernald and Fiona who let the imprisoned youngsters start a mutiny. Ellington followed the entire mutiny from afar. The youngsters were released. Esme, Olaf and Carmelita fled. The octopus-shaped submarine was eventually given back to Ellington Feint who promised to help Fernald and Fiona if they were ever in trouble."
10. Ellington had no further use for the CBB (as she already gained her father's submarine, which was the intention) so she [presumably, most likely] discarded the statue in the sea, before it washed up on the island, as @ven10 describes.
Part 2 (Post-ASOUE) coming soon,

Hi! Do you have recs for queers who-done-it?
Thank you so much for everything 💙
Hello! I'm assuming you mean queer whodunits, in which case anything under Mystery here should do: https://lgbtqreads.com/general-fiction/crime-fiction/ (my big big loves are Lev Rosen's Evander Mills series and Kristen Lepionka's Roxane Weary series) but if you mean something else, please come back and lemme know! (Like if you mean sexually active queers, I'm gonna pull out Mistakes Were Made by Meryl Wilsner and Triple Sec by TJ Alexander immediately.)

this goes for marzell too tbh, but both he and evander are both much more like caden than either of them are willing to admit (in different ways). and if caden wasn't such a dick more people would make that comparison. however evander and his brother effortlessly echo the gentle goodness and compassion the lockridges are famous for and while caden was very good at faking it didn't come naturally the same way. which is why people really don't make the comparison

oh my god I’d absolutely love to see how my sona would look in your iteration (I’m assuming he would count due to me also using him for tmnt related things!) As someone who loves goth/alr but can never draw/design it properly I’d love to see how he would look (plus I love your art in general) I feel a little bag getting free art from you so I wouldn’t mind drawing you something in return if you want!
https://toyhou.se/20957697.evander <- here’s his toyhouse! or you can do https://toyhou.se/25835603.laurie-gordo if you’re not very comfortable with drawing an alligator!
Sorry im not really go at drawing gators but tried anyway :33
I was originally gonna do Steampunk cause I thought it was cool(it's not a goth subculture but they take elements from goth fashion)but then I drew him with the fit and the hat then I thought he looked goofy so I decided on Cyber goth instead even Donnie has that style shh

You don't have to draw anything in return but if you want you can idm/nf/gen^^

Smash or Pass: Evander Winsome
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Quick Facts:
Height: 5' 9"
Age: 28
Gender: Cis Male
Pronouns: He/Him
Sexuality: Straight
Pros:
When he's there, he's very attentive.
75% of the time, he's almost pathologically chill. Very "go with the flow". Signature phrase? "Yeah, okay."
When he's in Go Mode™, he's very much a hedonist and an adrenaline junkie.
He's a great drinking buddy. He loves to pick up the tab, too.
He just wants to have a good time. He just wants you to have a good time. He just wants everyone to have a good time. (Except maybe that one guy; you know the one. He's an asshole.)
He's very touch-oriented. Hope you like a good massage.
He really enjoys the company of impulsive, problematic women. (I've been told this one's a pro, anyway)
Cons:
When he's there, he's very attentive.
Very "go with the flow". No flow? No go.
The 25% of the time he's not chill, he's either monomaniacally driven in an almost fugue state-level of hyperfocus... Or he's irritated to the point that he's drowning in pettiness and sarcasm.
Permanent hat hair
Additional Information:
It's Just A Hat.™
Evander is very in his head. He's always thinking about thoughts and feelings, slowly meandering toward one action after lazily playing it out in his head...
... Except for when he isn't. This man is either the tortoise or the hare, and he will die before he's caught between the two. When impulse takes him (or when he's tired of all those thoughts and feelings) he's a creature of action and chaos. Consequences are fake and only exist if you acknowledge them.
Grief is at his core. On some level, grief and longing are who he is, and though he wouldn't even know to admit it, a lot of his motivation comes from trying to live up to the imagined expectations of people who just wanted him to do his own thing and be happy. Acknowledging this to himself is difficult; acknowledging it to anyone else would be devastating.
Sexually: He's not much of one for prescriptive roles and doesn't tend to think of himself in that way, instead preferring to explore the individual alchemy that naturally arises from any given individual relationship.
Romantically: He's kind of a mess, honestly. If you give him the room to work on his own timetable, he loves easily, deeply and generously and is intensely loyal, if not monogamous or always present. On the other hand, if he feels any kind of pressure or expectation, he starts to feel insecure and withdrawn and is about a coin flip or empty bottle from convincing himself that whoever he's with deserves better and he's just taking up space and time and getting in the way of whatever "better" looks like.
Tagged By: @thefreelanceangel
Tagging: oh no thanks that's okay haha, gee, no I think I'm probably too shy for all that.
Rules: pretty self explanatory. include physical descriptions or pics, and propaganda. the “other” label can be used for “sexuality misalignment” (ie: oc is femme and you’re gay, vice versa or you aren’t into smashing but a specific thing you wanna do with them like perhaps hug or study them under a microscope idc).

Evander Berry Wall was a famous sociality and fashionista in the late 19th and early 20th century, dubbed The King of the Dudes. Via wikipedia:
"Wall was a clotheshorse. He generally wore a "very extraordinary costume" such as the one pictured on the right: "a dust coat of a reddish havana brown, a suit made of a large grey shepherd plaid check; extremely wide trousers tapered at the ankle, and turned up several inches to display white spats and highly varnished shoes; a 'startling' striped shirt in red and sky blue, with very high false collar of a pattern different from the shirts, a striped vest and a widely spread stock-cravat." He was popularly credited with the possession of over 500 trousers and 5,000 neckties." ...
Wall was first proclaimed "King of the Dudes" at the resort town of Long Branch, New Jersey in the summer of 1883.
Wall was again proclaimed "King of the Dudes" in 1888 by the New York American newspaper. A journalist named Blakely Hall judged that Wall had won the "Battle of the Dudes" against Robert "Bob" Hilliard, another sartorial dude when, during the March Blizzard of 1888, he strode into a bar clad in gleaming boots of patent leather that went to his hips. Nevertheless, some historians still consider it was Hilliard who won that dude battle.
Wall won another fashion contest in August 1888, in Saratoga Springs, New York. To win a bet against John "Bet a Million" Gates, Wall changed clothes 40 times between breakfast and dinner. He appeared on the race track "in one flashy ensemble after the other until, exhausted but victorious he at last entered the ballroom of the United States Hotel in faultless evening attire."
Ever the fashion-leader, Wall is credited for having been the first person in the United States to wear a dinner jacket (tuxedo) to a ball. The white ensemble had been sent to him by the London Savile Row tailor Henry Poole & Co "to be worn for a quiet dinner at home or at an evening's entertainment at a summer resort." This was a time when tailcoat was still the rule, and Wall was immediately ordered off the floor.
Wall's financial life was not as successful as his fashion life. An ill-conceived stock-broking career and additional failures as a stable owner ended in an 1899 bankruptcy. Wall finally declared that "New York had become fit only for businessmen" and left for Paris in 1912. ... They lived in a suite in the Hotel Meurice, with a consecutive string of chow dogs named Chi-Chi or Toi-Toi. This was located conveniently near the bespoke shirtmaker Charvet, where Wall had his signature "spread eagle" collar shirts and cravats custom-made for himself and his dog. Wall always dined at the Ritz with his dog, whose collars and ties were made by Charvet in the same style and fabric as his master's.
